From Russia with Love

Price per unmounted sheet: $21

Here is a plate of stamps that brings to you the Romanovs, the last royal family of Russia.
In 1894, the last tsar of Russia, Nicholas, wed Alexandra. The royal couple had five children: Olga, Tatiana, Marie, Anastasia and the heir Nicholas, a hemophiliac. Today many people think of the splendor of the palaces in which the family lived, the Faberge eggs done in their honor, their children's beauty and their tragic end. In July 1918, the Romanovs were executed by the Bolsheviks. Years later in the U.S., a woman claimed to be Anastasia, a claim that was later debunked.
