Madonna Card from Odds and Ends by Judy Cantrell

Judy also calls this "Eye Create"
Judy reports: "I stamped the frame pieces with sepia ink and placed them together and trimmed to make a thinner frame. The Mary (Women of the Ages plate) image was stamped with sepia and watercolored with watercolor crayons and applied to the framed card.
I placed different pieces of stamped paper inside the framed card. The small child (from The Madonna plate) was stamped with sepia, watercolored and cut out away from the other image and applied to the card. The other Madonna image (top-right, also from
The Madonna plate) was stamped and watercolored and cut out to fit around the framed card.
A piece of glass tile that I cut out was placed over the eye. I used a punch card to cut out the letter and place it on the card.

Origami Purses by Wanda Hentges

The paper used for the inside and to cover the cardboard are both the unglued painters mask and stamped the same in this order. Stamp alphabet image (Alphabetika plate) with Versafine Sepia randomly. Dab on Versafine Sepia and then Pearl-ex gold ink with wadded up plastic wrap. Spray with walnut ink. Spray with Krylon gold marker using Blitzer bulb. Heat with heat tool to dry walnut ink and set Krylon. Stamp tile image (Medieval Tile Kit #1 plate) with Distress ink Peeled Paint. Go over tile image with water using water brush or paint brush. Dry with heat tool. Jayne image (Fabulous Faces plate) is stamped on light brown cardstock using Distress ink Vintage Photo. Color added with chalks. Edge with Gold Krylon. "HOT" (PSX set) is stamped onto same light brown cardstock with Distress Ink Peeled Paint and punched out with 1/2" circle punch. Cording was white rattail and I colored it with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and then ironed to set. The closure is an elastic piece with metal ends. I punched 2 holes in the bottom to hold the metal ends and the elastic can hook over the button. To attach the button I punched an 1/8" hole. Using waxed linen thread (brown & green) i went through the button leaving 2 long ends, put both ends through the punched hole, pulled one end to the left and the other to the right. Took the right end and brought it around the end to the front and then around the button, back to the right and wrapped to the back. Repeat with left side. Tie ends together at the back of the punched hole, trim ends.

Wanda made these beautiful purses stamped with images from the Great Wall of China plate.

Stamped Stone Cards by Belinda Martin

Belinda used portions of stamps from the Portrait of a Lady sheet on her stones.
Here's how she did it:
"The stones come in various shapes and sizes and are first colored with liquid chalk inkpads. I used either brown or green around the outside and lef the center; this gives an antique feel to the stone. Then I used a cocktail stick to push in to the holde on the stone, then inked up the stamp with black or brown permanent ink, turned the stamp face up and lined the stone up over the piece of the stamp required. Press firmly, heat set and then use a gold outline pen to finish the edges. I have threaded beads and ribbon on to give a cameo look."

Celtic Cross in Precious Metal Clay by Noreen Miller

Noreen created this stunning piece of jewelry using a stamp from the Celtic #1 plate of stamps that is often for sale on Ebay. If you'd like it and it's not there, simply email estelle@stampsmith.net and you can purchase it directly. Noreen's directions:
Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is a modern material developed and produced by Mitsubishi Corp. It comes in fine silver, platinum or gold. My pieces are made from the silver PMC. PMC can be added to a variety of media: glass, ceramics, porcelain semi-precious stones and polymer clay. It can be rolled, sculpted, stamped, sanded, filed, engraved, drilled and pre-polished, all prior to firing. Once formed, they are air-dried to the "leather hard" state to remove the moisture. They are then fired in a 1650 degree F kiln to burn off the organic binder and any remaining moisture. After cooling and removing from the kiln I wire-brush them and tumble for an hour. They can be antiqued or left as is. Each is one of a kind.

For this piece I used Celtic Designs #1 and Standard PMC. I rolled the clay between 2 plastic canvas strips, and then pressed the clay sheet into the un-mounted rubber stamp, turned it over and cut out the cross. When it was dry, I formed the bail and attached it with water and slip. I fired it at 1650 degrees F for 2 hours. The Standard PMC has a shrinkage of 30%, the final cross was 2 x 2 inches. Finally I applied a patina of liver-of-sulfur and ammonia to get turquoise and purple highlights

Dominoes by Monica Barney

Here is a study in contrasts. Above, Monica stamped dominos using images from the Italian Tarot and Petite Cards plate. Monica used colored Sharpie pens to color in the images and then outlined with a gold Krylon pen. Below, Monica took embossing powder mix, heated it and stamped one of the Stampsmith Medieval tile designs on it, then added polyclay tube beads glued on with glass beads attached to the end of a rattail cord. Et voila, a necklace is born!

Watercolor Madonna by Judy Cantrell

Judy used an image from The Madonna sheet and
combined with watercolors to get a soft, painterly
effect. Judy's directions:
I used a brayer and Archival Sepia dye pad to stamp the Madonna image on glossy cardstock
(Kromekote Plus 10pt.) After it is throughly dry (a few hours) watercolor the image with watercolor
crayons and a portable waterbrush. When this is throughly dry polished the image with a soft tissue
until it is shiny. Stamp the frame stamp 4 times with sepia, cut-out all the frame pieces.
Run the stamped Madonna image and the 4 frame pieces through adhesive machine (Xyron).
Place a 1/2 sheet of cardtock down on a table (any color) in front of you, with the adhesive removed,
apply the Madonna in the center of the cardstock. Start with one of the framed pieces and take off the
adhesive and apply it around the stamped image. You will have to fit the pieces to the image. Some pieces
will have to be trimmed, then trim the extra cardstock off. I used a small butane torch to change the color of the
brass flower. This was my first time but like how it turned out. I applied the brass flower with heavy duty glue.
