The Madonna

The Virgin Mary has been depicted throughout history. In this sheet of rubber stamps you will find six images taken from details of 15th- and 16-Century European paintings.
Each stamp sheet is $21.

The artists are: Top row, left to right: Jan Gossart, Pietro Perugino and Agnolo Bronzino.
Bottom row, left to right: Sebastiano Mainardi, Guido Reni and Giovanni Battissta Cima da Conegliano.

Below are the images in color (all but one), showing how they look in the original and to give you an idea of how you might want to color them. Of course, use your imagination to add any colors you'd like!

The Stampsmith has another sheet in this vein, the Blessed Are plate of holy card stamps.
Enjoy and make beautiful art!

This beauty also uses Medieval tile stamps. And Lise used watercolors for the warm effect above.

Janet Detter Margul made these for an online class she held in how to paint photostamps in watercolor.
